NOVA’s New Clinic in Cavaillon is open year round!
NOVA Hope for Haiti is pleased to announce that our permanent clinic in Cavaillon, Haiti was opened in October 2014 and our staff is treating patients there year round!
NOVA Hope for Haiti has been providing medical care in Haiti since 2002. In February of 2013, in partnership with the Haitian Pilgrims of Texas, we took over management of a clinic in Boileau, Haiti, just a few miles from Cavaillon, Haiti, where NOVA had been running bi-annual medical missions. We hired a new doctor to work with the rest of the staff in the Boileau Clinic.
Now NOVA is providing medical care Monday through Friday between both locations. The staff was expanded and now we are open 4 days / week in Boileau and 3 days / week in our clinic Cavaillon.
October 2014 was incredibly busy for NOVA.. On October 16th, a non-medical volunteer team went to unload a 40′ sea container full of building furnishings and get the new clinic ready for NOVA’s 18th Medical Mission team to treat patients from October 18h-26th.
Our new building has three examining rooms with sinks and one procedure room It has a large pharmacy and large laboratory, as well as a records room and a storage room. There are also two bathrooms in the clinic: one for the staff and one for patients. The second floor of the building is a volunteer residence with four bedrooms, four baths, a kitchen, and large living room / dining room. This residence is intended to host visiting NOVA mission volunteers and other missionary groups who work in Cavaillon and the surrounding region.
This new building is enabling NOVA to provide more high quality healthcare to the people of Cavaillon and the surrounding villages. This is a huge milestone in NOVA’s 12 year history and we are deeply grateful to all of our volunteers, both in the US and in Haiti, and to our supporters who have made this dream a reality. Thank you!
